Healthier and Fairer Futures - Commercial Determinants of Health

Making healthy choices can be difficult when thousands of marketing messages sell us products that are bad for our health. These create negative health outcomes and exacerbate existing inequalities.

This Yorkshire and the Humber event was hosted by the Faculty of Public Health, Association of Directors of Public Health (Y&H) and SPECTRUM Consortium, focused on the ‘commercial determinants of health’. We explain why we need to shape our commercial environment to be supportive of health and wellbeing in its widest sense.

Key speakers include Professor Linda Bauld OBE (University of Edinburgh), Professor Mark Petticrew (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine) and Hazel Cheeseman (Deputy Chief Executive, Action on Smoking & Health).

Please see below the presentations for the event.
