Core Workforce Development Training Information

2024 Core PH Workforce Development Programme

The Core PH Workforce Development Programme is a training programme available for Public Health workers in Yorkshire and the Humber. The training is fully funded and offered at no cost to attendees.

Some training has been designed to contribute to the attainment of core standards required to demonstrate safe and competent practice as a PH practitioner and some will address leadership, resilience and interpersonal skills development and will allow opportunity for personal reflection. The Programme identifies and fill ‘gaps’ in knowledge and competencies for Public Health workers to help them develop in their careers both personally and professionally.

The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Masterclasses, highlighted in blue in the attached documents, incorporate all UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) practitioner standards and are mapped to the Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework. Practitioners considering UKPHR registration or those who are thinking of applying for the Cohort 6 (2024 cohort) of the Y&H UKPHR registration scheme can be confident that masterclasses meet the theoretical knowledge requirements for portfolio writing and are at the right level to demonstrate competence for professional registration.

FPH Masterclasses also offer an optional accreditation for attendees of four or more of these sessions. For further details email the Programme Team.

Registration process

All training is fully funded and there is no cost to attendees. Please note that places are limited, and a waiting list will open once sessions are full. If you book but are unable to attend, kindly cancel your booking via Maxcourse as soon as possible, as this will make your place available to the waiting list. Even cancelling at the last minute will allow someone else the chance to attend the training.

You can register for sessions using our online registration system, Maxcourse. It is very simple to sign up and add sessions to your basket, and you can register for more than one session at a time. The portal allows you to add sessions to your calendar, monitor sessions attended, record training hours and access certificates. All sessions are delivered online via either Zoom or MS Teams, and links to access the sessions can be found within Maxcourse. If you need any assistance using the portal, please access the Maxcourse help guides.

Important: Please use the ‘add to calendar’ function on the Course List page as the system does not send out calendar invites.

The Programme Team are also at hand to assist so if you have any questions/queries please email PHPPYH@leeds.ac.uk
