About the programme
The programme is:
- Split into 2 levels: Level 1 is an entry level course covering the fundamentals of public health and Level 2 is perfect for anyone who wants to take their public health learning further
- Each of which contains four sessions of three hours each
- Entirely online
- Delivered by a public health specialist
- Delivered weekdays 09:30-12:30
- The programme is funded by NHS England and is free of charge for colleagues in North East and Yorkshire and the Humber

Benefits of the programme:
- Foundation level knowledge and understanding of health inequalities
- Improved understanding of how current specialisms can be reoriented to address health inequalities
- Improved understanding of how emerging population health policies can address health inequalities
- Improved understanding of how system-wide working can address health inequalities, and
- Improvement in the overall number, quality and impact of health promotion, protection, or prevention initiatives
Proposed Calendar for 2025/26
- Sessions for Level 1 and Level 2 are scheduled to run throughout the year up until March 2026
