Behavioural Science and Public Health Network | BSPHN

The network is for professionals interested in all domains of public health wishing to develop an understanding of health and wellbeing from a behavioural, social and psychological perspective regional hubs including Yorkshire & Humber.

The Y&HBSH can provide colleagues working in Behavioural and Social Sciences with funded membershiop of the BSPHN (worth £25).  Limited funding available for membership so this offer is subject to availability.  Please contact chris.sharp@dhsc.gov.uk.

LGA & BSPHN National Behaviour Change Leads Group

Led by Michelle Constable (BSPHN Chair/Hertfordshire CC). This provides a national opportunity to share good practice and collaborate with other local authorities who are undertaking behavioural science work.

Health Psychology Exchange (currently under review)

Monthly UK-wide meeting to support embedding behavioural science in PH throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. A subgroup has been formed to support non-COVID work, specifically how LAs can translate behavioural science into BAU work

Communities of Improvement (COI’s) (yhphnetwork.co.uk)

Communities of Improvement are defined strategic networks that are jointly supported by Y&H Association of Directors of Public Health (YHADPH) Network and the Y&H Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).

Included where steering group members sit but between us likely to have representation at most of the COIs, some of which have more specific sub-groups (e.g. Healthy Places: School Streets, Transport, Active Travel, and Health impact assessment for spatial planning)
